This page will serve as an online archive of writings in progress: snippets of ideas, parts of stories, and other flotsam that doesn't rate a unique posting of its own. A good portion of what I include here will be my contributions to the "First 50 Words" blog. If you haven't found your way over there yet, it is certainly worth a look. Before you know it, half a day will have drifted by and you'll be as entranced as you were when you first clicked over there.

J. Davidson Bassingthwaite IV punched the 80th floor elevator six times. The first time to program the elevator's computer, and the other five times to underscore the urgency with which he wanted to reach his grandfather -Dabby's- office. Dabby would fix it. Dabby would tell that idiot senior partner that his grandson hadn't spent the first quarter century of his life attending the finest schools to be assigned cereal as his first case as a lawyer in the firm that bore his family's name. Whether or not Frootie Tooties dissolved more quickly in milk than Coco Crunchies was beneath his station, and Sonny Bassingthwaite was going to get his Dabby to fix it.
