Two Types of Socialists

I think that there are two types of American socialists - the first kind is the anti-American intellectual who understands the implications of socialism and doesn't care. They have an abiding contempt for our country, its values, and its economic system. These people are irredeemable.

The second type is like a young man who is intrigued by the excitement and adventure of a crazy woman. He's never really gone out with one, but thinks of all the crazy hot things that they'll be able to do together. He is too naive and inexperienced to see the life altering downside to this relationship. So he frequents dive bars and clubs on the prowl for exactly these kinds of psycho bitches. And maybe it IS what he expected, for awhile, until the psycho in her personality shows up and his truck is wrecked, his dog is dead, she's gone, her kids are in his house, and he is $49,000 in credit card debt on cards that she opened in his name. Only then does he realize that he's f*cked and that it will take a decade or more to unscrew himself.

These people, if you prevent them from making the initial mistake, can be saved from themselves.

This is why education matters.
