Don’t let California become Texas, Newsom says -- as residents, businesses flee | Fox News

Facing a recall election Tuesday that could soon leave him without a job, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has been pointing to Texas as an example of where the Golden State is headed if Republicans take over, according to a report.

While campaigning last week, Newsom, a Democrat, made reference to a new Texas abortion law that many liberals fear could lead to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that legalized abortion in America.

"The whole idea that a constitutional right, the right to choice, the right to reproductive freedom, rights of women, now are under assault – what a remarkable moment it is in American history," Newsom told a campaign crowd, FOX 11 of Los Angeles reported.

Why would you want freedom and prosperity when you can have economic and social decay with large servings of homelessness and disease. Makes total sense. Don't Texas all over Gavin's pristine California.

When you hear that ICUs are 'full' that may or may not be literally true. Why? Because health care facilities must maintain a particular ratio between providers and patients and open themselves up to massive liability if those ratios are exceeded and a patient suffers harm as a result. So, if you have nursing shortage, then a commensurate decline in the capacity of the facility to take in patients will occur. It's simple math.

Therefore, 'At capacity' is a much more accurate way to describe this situation but it is not as politically useful because it doesn't stigmatize anyone - it merely describes the situation.

Members of the media/political/entertainment class are stating openly and without irony or shame that unvaccinated people should be denied all health care because they made a choice that puts themselves and others at greater risk.

Dear leftists: Are you sure that you want to open that can of worms?

The same argument could be made to deny healthcare to HIV/AIDS patients.

The same argument could be made to deny healthcare to Hep C patients.

The same argument could be made to deny healthcare to lung cancer patients who were prior smokers.

The same argument could be made to deny healthcare to soldiers with TBI (they chose to enlist, didn't they?)

The same argument could be made to deny healthcare to just about anyone....

The exact rhetoric could be used to:
Confiscate guns
Impose single child laws (to save the planet)
Nationalize businesses (for economic stability)
Create Covid detention centers (Like Australia)
Make fossil fuel burning vehicles illegal (to save the planet)

Literally any act of tyranny could be justified with these words.
